Korail (Korea Railroad Corporation) announced on April 9 that it will run its regular tourist service tied to DMZ sightseeing — the DMZ Peace Link Train (Seoul Station–Dorasan Station) — twice a month starting in April.
Korail has brought the service back in partnership with the Ministry of Unification, the Ministry of National Defense, Gyeonggi Province, and Paju City. It’s the first time the train has run in six and a half years since the Peace Train halted operations in 2019.
Beginning April 24, the DMZ Peace Link Train will make one round trip on the second and fourth Friday of every month. The rides are offered as part of curated tour packages that stop at DMZ highlights like the Dorasan Observatory, Unification Village, and the Third Infiltration Tunnel.
Onboard, you’ll find a “slow mailbox” for handwritten keepsakes, a DMZ peace photo wall, and a vintage-style black-and-white receipt camera — perfect for snapping retro mementos and writing commemorative notes.
Reservations open April 9 on Korail’s official website and the Korail Tourism Development site.
Because the route enters a civilian control zone, advance reservation is required and all passengers must carry valid ID.
