On Arbor Day, April 5, Gyeonggi Province's prime flower spots were buzzing with people eager to soak up spring.

Known as a top cherry-blossom destination, the tree-lined road around the old Gyeonggi Provincial Government Office in Paldal-gu, Suwon was packed from early morning.

Visitors strolled along Paldalsan and the walking path beside the Hwaseong Fortress World Heritage walls, taking in the city's most picturesque spring scenes.

Some stopped for photos amid the cascades of blossoms; others simply closed their eyes and breathed in the season.

A middle-aged man said, "The view at sunset, with the glowing sky, is especially beautiful. I'm going to take my time and enjoy spring a little longer."

Park (male, 30s, Suwon) said, "This is Suwon's most famous cherry-blossom spot, so I come here every year. Seeing the trees in full bloom really makes it feel like spring has arrived."

At the same time, Dongtan Lake Park in Song-dong, Dongtan-gu, Hwaseong was shoulder-to-shoulder with visitors. Families and couples wove along the walkways beneath the blooming cherry trees.

As petals drifted down like a spring shower, children darted about, laughing and glowing with excitement.

On the lawns, people lounged listening to music or nibbling on snacks while the gentle breeze swept through.

Moon (female, 30s, Hwaseong) said, "I can't travel far because of work, but I love being able to enjoy cherry blossoms right here in the city. I'm so happy—I wish spring would stick around."

Everland in Cheoin-gu, Yongin, with about 1.2 million spring blooms across more than 100 species—including tulips, daffodils, and muscari—also drew crowds eager to celebrate the season.

Mount Gwanggyo and Mount Yongmun were likewise alive with hikers in colorful outdoor gear, turning the trails into a lively spring parade.
