Namhae County in South Gyeongsang Province is rolling out the \"Namhae — Ready for Spring?\" campaign to charm spring visitors with its blue sea, cherry blossoms and bright canola fields.
On March 10, county officials said they expect cherry blossoms and canola at hotspots like Namhae Bridge and Wangji Cherry Blossom Road to reach peak bloom in March and April. Preparations are already underway to welcome visitors.
Wangji Cherry Blossom Road in Seolcheon-myeon, named one of Korea’s 100 Most Beautiful Roads, becomes an endless tunnel of cherry blossoms along the coastal route. Below the road, swaths of yellow canola contrast with the blue sea for a picture-perfect vista.
Around Namhae Bridge in Seolcheon-myeon, trees burst into bloom, creating a striking scene as white blossoms complement the bridge’s red span. In the evening, landscape lighting turns the blossoms into a magical spectacle.
Gacheon Darengi Village, Namhae’s signature tourist spot, offers a unique spring scene as yellow canola dots the layered terraced rice paddies.
Dumo Paradarangs, an emotion-themed park in Sangju-myeon that celebrates traditional terraced paddy landscapes, is set to open in mid-March, inviting visitors to soak up the spring atmosphere.
Lee Yeon-ju, director of tourism promotion, said, \"Spring in Namhae is the most romantic season, when the sea meets the flowers. We hope visitors make unforgettable memories in Namhae, a national retreat.\"
