The Yeongyang Wild Greens Festival runs May 7–10 for four days at the Yeongyang Cultural Center and throughout the town center.

Centered on foraged mountain greens, the festival pairs bold flavors with hands-on experiences to draw visitors from across the country. It has become one of North Gyeongsang Province’s signature spring festivals, attracting roughly 50,000 guests each year.

This year, organizers are pushing the event toward a stay-focused model — boosting culinary programming, sharpening interactive experiences, and reconfiguring the venue layout to encourage people to linger.

Food offerings have been expanded — think mountain-greens bibimbap, savory pancakes, and interactive wrap stations — and the programming was redesigned to emphasize tasting and discovery rather than passive consumption. Foraging workshops and other participatory events give visitors the chance to get hands-on.

The site itself was reworked around circulation. With the Meeting Plaza as the hub, a loop now links a temporary stage, dining zones, and the traditional market so visitors naturally encounter a variety of programs as they move. That setup improves convenience and encourages longer stays.

Evening performances and cultural programming have also been expanded to create a day‑to‑night festival vibe, nudging visitors to stay later into the evening. The market-connected pathways should help channel visitor spending into the local economy, too.

A Yeongyang County official said, "This year's festival will focus on culinary and experiential content designed to keep visitors on-site. We'll do everything we can to ensure guests can enjoy Yeongyang's nature and food together."
