[EPN Enpinau reporter Go Nari] Veteran singer Hye-eun says she has been battling severe depression and recently opened up about her mental state.

In a video posted to the YouTube channel "Anyway, Hye-eun" on the 26th, she explained why she left the house after a long period away. She said the visit to the Han River came three weeks after a hospital stay.

She said the unpredictable weather has worsened her depression. Medical staff told her that seasonal shifts can trigger depressive episodes as people get older, she added.

Prompted by a writer's suggestion, she left home and walked along the Han River, an outing she said brought her some calm. As she strolled, she observed, "So many people look peaceful."

She said she craves an ordinary, steady life but feels forced to reconcile a glamorous past with a very different present. She's trying to accept how time is changing her, but confessed, "What's hardest is that the heart doesn't age."

She admitted that the glitter of her past has become burdensome and that she rarely watches footage she once appeared in. Though she still longs for love and recognition, she said the outpouring of support from viewers on the channel gives her strength.

Born in 1954, Hye-eun debuted in 1975 with "You Probably Don't Know" and went on to become beloved for songs like "Monologue," "Little Lady," and "Passion." She continues to keep fans updated through music releases and television appearances.
