Kim Jang-hoon Reveals Monthly Rent of 5 Million Won: The Truth Behind His Lifestyle

[Sports Today reporter Song O-jung] Singer Kim Jang-hoon stepped forward to clear up misconceptions about living on rent.

In a recently released YouTube video, Kim addressed reports about a 20 billion KRW (15 million USD) donation and discussed his income.

When the topic of donations came up, Kim quipped, "I spent 20 billion KRW (15 million USD) on image-making." He also confirmed that he currently rents and said, "My monthly rent, including maintenance, is 5 million KRW (approximately 3,750 USD)."

He explained his choice to rent: "People misunderstand renting. It suits my lifestyle. I don't have kids, so why would I buy a house and stay in one place for a long time?"

He said he currently lives in Daechi-dong, a neighborhood in Seoul, which naturally led viewers to wonder about his earnings.

Kim said he earns income through performances at corporate events, municipal functions and similar gigs. When a comparison was made to a rapper who earns 500,000 KRW (≈ 375 USD) per gig, Kim replied, "You can think I get about 50 to 60 times that," roughly 25,000,000–30,000,000 KRW (approximately 18,750–22,500 USD) per event.

He added, "Back in the day, I think I did around 500 events a year. There were days I did five or six shows. Even from that alone, wouldn't it top 10 billion KRW (approximately 7.5 million USD)?"
