[SPOTV News — Jung Hye-won] Indie band Dragon Pony has returned with a new release that broadens its coming-of-age narrative.
On the 10th at 6 p.m., Dragon Pony dropped their third mini-album, Run Run Run, and unveiled the music video for its title track, "Ah, Everything Goes My Way!"
Run Run Run picks up the imperfect-youth story the band has been developing across the EPs Popup and Not Out and the digital single "Earth Boy." Rather than getting stuck overanalyzing endless choices, the album urges listeners to pursue what feels true to them.
One of the album’s standout elements is Dragon Pony’s self-producing skill. All members acted as main producers and jointly handled the lyrics, composition, and arrangements for every track, sharpening the group’s identity. It’s a reminder that they’re not just a band— they’re authors of their own narrative.
The title track, "Ah, Everything Goes My Way!," furthers the story of a band that once seemed uncertain of its direction. The song is a bold declaration to live on their own terms rather than conform to external expectations.
From the opening bars, a technical yet fluid guitar riff commands attention and instantly lifts the song’s mood. Layers of diverse instrumentation rush in afterward, building into a concentrated surge of band energy.
With earlier releases, Dragon Pony quickly carved out a presence in the indie band scene. Their direct melodies, explosive band sound, and candid lyrics about youth made a strong impression despite their newcomer status. A pop-savvy sensibility helped that impression spread rapidly among listeners.
Run Run Run and its lead single continue the artistic throughline Dragon Pony has been tracing while marking a clear step forward. Where earlier work voiced the doubts and questions of youth, this album stakes a claim on forward motion—on moving ahead in the band’s own way.
As Dragon Pony sets its own pace, industry observers expect the group to leave an increasingly distinct imprint on the band landscape.
