Billboard CEO Mike Van posted on his social media on March 22, the day after the concert, calling it "a historical moment for BTS" and sharing a photo he took from the audience.
Van is the first person Billboard appointed to the newly created CEO role. He oversees both editorial and business operations, and he directs brand strategy and partnerships across 15 markets—giving him significant influence within the company.
The photo shows Bang Si-hyuk with Paul Tollett, founder and CEO of Coachella; noted producer Edgar Ivan Barrera; and creator Alan Chikin Chow.
Paul Tollett, often dubbed the "king of festivals," began organizing punk-rock shows in the 1980s and launched the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival in 1999. Under his leadership, Coachella became one of the world's premier festivals, and more recently he has helped expand the festival into a global digital model through YouTube livestreams.
Edgar Ivan Barrera is a prominent producer who has worked with artists such as Shakira, Bad Bunny and Camilo. He was nominated three years in a row for the Grammy Award for Songwriter of the Year (Non-Classical), starting in 2024. Alan Chikin Chow is a global creator collaborating with HYBE America and Netflix on a series that documents the process of launching a pop group.
They were joined by Issac Lee, chairman and CEO of HYBE America, who oversees HYBE's North and South American operations.
Holding BTS's official light stick, the "Army Bomb," the group posed and watched BTS's comeback stage—their first in four years—experiencing K-pop fandom culture firsthand.
South Korea's music industry is watching closely. With influential global music executives attending the performance and meeting Bang, who has served as the group's executive producer, observers are keen to see whether new collaborations could emerge to further amplify K-pop's reach in the global market.
According to industry sources, Bang greeted numerous visiting entertainment executives near the venue. Director Maggie Kang, who created Netflix's "K-Pop: Demon Hunters," and Agnes Lee, a producer at Sony Pictures Animation, also met with him at the site.
