[Sports Today reporter Kim Tae-hyung] I approached filming as if my acting career depended on it.

Actor Yoo Yeon-seok made the remark at a production press conference for SBS's new Friday–Saturday drama Shin Irang Law Office, held on the afternoon of the 11th at the SBS Hall in Mok-dong, Yangcheon-gu, Seoul.

Director Shin Jung-hoon, directing his first major project, closed the event with similarly stark words, saying, \"I've put a lot on the line. My life is at stake,\" underscoring his solemn commitment.

Their urgency has clear reasons. The previous SBS Friday–Saturday drama, From Today, I'm Human, ended with ratings around the 3% range — a disappointing result compared with the double-digit success of The Good Taxi 3, which closed out its run in the 10% range and earned broad audience love.

Shin conceded the pressure was real. \"I can't honestly say it doesn't weigh on me,\" he said, adding that he feels a responsibility to help the company. He urged viewers to tune in, noting the show's chief strength: its ease and warmth. \"It's more accessible and relaxed than many other projects,\" he said, \"a drama people of all ages can sit down and enjoy together.\"

Last year, SBS experienced what critics called a drama boom, delivering hits across genres. The slate included the romance My Perfect Secretary starring Han Ji-min and Lee Joon-hyuk; the long-awaited Wednesday–Thursday revival Kiss for No Reason!; the crime-thriller revenge drama Treasure Island, which generated buzz for the acting face-off between Park Hyung-sik and Heo Joon-ho; the supernatural fantasy Gwigung; and the dark-hero phenomenon The Good Taxi 3.

Expectations are high that SBS will sustain its reputation as a drama powerhouse this year. The network revealed a 2026 lineup featuring Manager Kim, marking So Ji-sub's return to television; the dark workplace rom-com A Wonderful New World starring Im Ji-yeon and Heo Nam-joon; the romantic comedy Sold Out Again Today with Ahn Hyo-seop and Chae Won-bin; the season-two comeback of Tycoon X Detective 2; and Good Partner 2, which teases a standout crop of new talent.

Now the network is aiming to wash away the disappointment of From Today, I'm Human. Picking up the baton, Shin Irang Law Office centers on Shin Irang (Yoo Yeon-seok), a lawyer possessed by spirits who delivers satisfying justice for the dead, and Han Na-hyun (Esom), a cold-blooded elite attorney who stakes everything on winning. The series blends oddball moments with a warm, cathartic revenge-adventure.
