[MyDaily = Reporter Kwak Myung-dong] Im Eun-jeong, CEO of Onda Works and producer of the film 'The Man Who Lives with the King,' has announced plans to distribute incentive bonuses to the entire crew after the movie surpassed 10 million admissions, and a fortune-teller's prediction that director Jang Hang-jun once shared on television has resurfaced.

In an interview on March 11, Im said, "We're discussing paying incentives to everyone who participated in the film's production."

The film’s box-office success and the prospect of those rewards have renewed interest in an anecdote from director Jang Hang-jun’s childhood.

Jang appeared on tvN's 'You Quiz on the Block' in September 2021 and recalled, "I was the family's late-born child who received all the affection, but I wasn't much of a student."

He said his mother, worried about his schooling, visited every reputed fortune-teller in downtown Daegu.

According to Jang, each fortune-teller told his mother, "This child will lead a life full of happiness without suffering and will come into a large, unexpected sum of money." He added that his mother reacted, "Isn't that crazy?" — a line that drew big laughs in the studio.

Meanwhile, Jang's new film The Man Who Lives with the King follows young King Danjong—exiled to Cheongnyeongpo in Yeongwol, Gangwon Province in 1457—and the villagers who take him in. Released on Feb. 4, the film reached 10 million cumulative admissions in 31 days, becoming the 34th film overall (and the 25th Korean film) to hit the milestone; by March 11 it had surpassed 12 million admissions.
