On the 2nd, her agency The Present Company confirmed that Kim will make a special appearance in JTBC's upcoming drama Human X Gumiho.

Human X Gumiho is an X-factor fantasy romantic comedy that follows a beguiling creature who lures humans and a man who attracts supernatural beings, and the unexpected collision of their fates. The casting of Jun Ji-hyun and Ji Chang-wook already generated early buzz, and the project has attracted attention with director Kim Jung-sik — known for Don't Want to Take a Loss and Strong Woman Kang Nam-soon — teaming with writer Im Me-a-ri, whose work includes One Day, Destruction Came to Our Door and The Beauty Inside. Kim Seol-hyun's participation is expected to heighten the series' distinctive tone.

Kim will portray Yeon-i, a beautiful yokai who is the director of Oseong Museum and bound by a contractual relationship to the shaman Choi Seok (played by Ji Chang-wook). The role promises to introduce new variations to the story, with the chemistry and emotional beats between Yeon-i and Choi Seok likely becoming a focal point for viewers.

Over the years, Kim Seol-hyun has steadily expanded her range as an actress. Her credits include TV series such as My Country, Day and Night, The Murderer's Shopping List and I Don't Want to Do Anything, as well as films like Gangnam 1970, Memoir of a Murderer and The Great Battle. By tackling roles across genres, she has reinforced and broadened her acting repertoire.

In particular, she drew notice for a striking turn in the Disney+ series The Lighting Shop, delivering a nuanced portrayal of a character caught between life and death. Riding that momentum, Kim is expected to color Yeon-i with her own sensibility, blurring the line between the real and the supernatural and expanding the show's emotional range to maximize the character's appeal.

Meanwhile, Kim Seol-hyun recently wrapped filming on Noh Hee-kyung's new Netflix series Slowly, Intensely.
